Murphy Company offers internships and co-ops in various departments to provide students the opportunity to experience jobs in the construction industry.
Internships and Co-ops allow students to combine classroom learning with real-world experience. Many of our interns and co-ops are mechanical engineering or construction management students; however, we also offer internships to management information system, information technology, marketing, and business administration students. We strive to make these opportunities meaningful by offering practical experience and exposure to real-world events students will encounter in the construction industry.
Our internships and co-op opportunities have a history of success and are proven to be a springboard to launching a career at Murphy Company. For example, approximately 40% of our Design-Build team is comprised of former Murphy interns and co-ops who began their careers with us after graduation.

Craft Professionals
Murphy Company employs over 1,000 union craftspeople primarily from the pipefitter, boilermaker, plumber, sheet metal worker, ironworker, carpenter, millwright, teamster, and laborer trades throughout the United States.
Our skilled tradespeople are the best in the industry. Beginning as apprentices and progressing to journeymen, foremen, and often, superintendents, they are a integral part of our building teams, advising on the best methods to fabricate, build, and install the materials and equipment for your facility. Our tradespeople perform ongoing maintenance, monitor energy usage, and troubleshoot any problems – all to ensure your mechanical systems are working efficiency.
