Diversity & Inclusion
Every year, Murphy Company partners with MCA of Eastern Missouri (MCA-EMO), UA Plumbers and Pipefitter Local 562, and the Plumbing Industry Council (PIC) to take part in the Creating Hometown Advantages Minority Participation In Our Neighborhoods (CHAMPIONS) program.
This program offers a fast track into the profession of plumbing and pipefitting with the ultimate goal of enrolling in Local 562’s five-year apprenticeship program. Since its inception, Murphy Company has been a proud supporter of this program and has hired many CHAMPIONS graduates.
There are more women in the construction industry than ever before and we strive to keep driving that statistic up! Our mission is to raise awareness about the diverse opportunities available to women within our company and the industry as a whole. By building a strong foundation for middle school, high school, and college students, we aim to inspire and guide them as they embark on their careers, showcasing the many paths available in construction.
Women in Construction Week is the chance to recognize women as a growing force in the construction industry. This isn’t just a chance for us to share our experiences with each other but also an opportunity to inspire young women today to pursue a career in construction.
