Private Client – New Pharmaceutical Facility

This private client outgrew its facility in Boulder County and needed to expand to meet the growing demand for legal nucleotides. They acquired 20 acres of land north of Denver to broaden their operations and double the commercial production of pharmaceutical drugs with a new, state-of-the-art, multi-building facility. This expansion was crucial to the client’s proprietary business, aiming to treat various conditions, including cancer, diabetes, muscular dystrophy, and more.

The initial phase of this project included 25,000 square feet of laboratory space, equipped with lab gases, and 125,000 square feet of pharmaceutical manufacturing space, complete with a central utility plant. During this intensive multi-year project, our team installed 175,000 pounds of sheet metal, 80,000 feet of high-purity process piping, utility piping, and central utility piping systems, 1,300 process instruments, and 320 pieces of equipment, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, process vessels, and specialized process equipment.

Overall, the project required 285,000 man-hours and meticulous scheduling, BIM coordination, material tracking and staging, value engineering, and precise pre-fabrication of skids to successfully execute our scope of work. With an aggressive delivery schedule, our teams from both Denver and St. Louis worked diligently to fulfill our commitment to high-quality work. The St. Louis office even fabricated and delivered components to the site to ensure timely completion.
