St. Louis, MO — Murphy Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Engelhardt as Director of Human Resources, reporting to Rob Koester. Barry brings more than 15 years of progressive experience in human resources, along with a strong background in operations and client relations.
Barry most recently served as HR Director at Store Supply Warehouse, where he spent six years leading human resources strategy and initiatives. His professional background also includes 10 years of experience in operations and client relations, providing him with a well-rounded, business-focused approach to human capital leadership.
In addition to his corporate experience, Barry is a 20-year veteran of the Illinois Army National Guard, reflecting a long-standing commitment to leadership, service, and teamwork.
Barry holds both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale (SIU-C) and is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). He currently serves as President
of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) of Greater St. Louis and volunteers with the Folds of Honor St. Louis chapter, supporting military families and educational opportunities.
Outside of his professional and volunteer work, Barry enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, traveling, coaching basketball, and reading. He is also an avid cook with a passion for grilling and smoking meats. On top of this, Barry serves as a site leader for F3, a men’s workout and leadership group in Florissant.
