7G Distributing is an Anheuser-Busch wholesale distribution facility located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As part of their efforts to expand operations and improve efficiency, the company initiated a significant warehouse expansion project. Murphy Company was selected to join the design-build team to develop a customized retrofit solution for the facility’s existing mechanical systems and equipment to support the new expansion.
Murphy collaborated closely with the owner and the design team from the earliest stages of the project. This collaborative approach allowed us to fully understand the client’s operational goals and facility constraints, ensuring the final design aligned with their long-term objectives. Our team played a critical role in engineering a solution that balanced system performance, energy efficiency, and constructability—while staying within the project’s established budget.
To execute the work, Murphy partnered with a local mechanical contractor, leveraging regional expertise and resources. This partnership allowed for a seamless installation process, ensuring that all systems were integrated efficiently with the existing infrastructure and that the work met both quality standards and schedule expectations. The project’s success was a direct result of proactive planning, open communication, and strong coordination across all stakeholders.
