St. Louis Science Center

The St. Louis Science Center East Addition is a new addition to the Science Center that will host some of the city’s largest science exhibits. This facility was constructed while the existing Science Center remained in operation. Murphy Company installed the HVAC system in the new addition and worked in the existing facility routing new utilities. A 700-ton prefabricated chiller plant was furnished and installed on the west side of the building allowing the Science Center to maintain its existing utility plant operation without interruption while the new systems were being installed. The project started in November 2010 and completed in July 2011. Murphy Company utilized BIM coordination and fabrication for the ductwork and piping racks. This project was also LEED Certified.
